AQVA Activated Carbon Ultra filter Cartridge, Size M
The filter cartridge fits AQVA DUO and AQVA ONE countertop filters, as well as the AQVA SMART EVO and SMART MAX reverse osmosis system.
Please note that the filter is designed for a flow rate of 1–2 liters per minute. If you require a filter for a higher flow rate, please refer to the product with code AQUF01-M.
Benefits:
- Multi-stage filtration effectively improves water quality
- Clarifies water and improves its taste
- No drain connection needed
Filtration methods and effects:
- In the first stage, water passes through the granular activated carbon. This stage filters odors, off-tastes, chlorine, and various organic compounds.
- In the second stage water flows through ion exhange disk. Ion exhange filters metals and scale from water.
- In the third stage, water flows through hollow fiber membranes with a pore size of 0.1 µm. This effectively removes even the smallest suspended particles, as well as humus, bacteria, and other microbiological contaminants. For reference, most bacteria are between 0.5 µm and 5 µm in size, so this filter achieves excellent bacterial removal.
Filters:
- Humus
- Odors and off-tastes
- Suspended solids
- Oxidized iron and manganese
- Scale
- Heavy metals
- Bacteria
- Yeasts and molds
- Organic compounds (e.g., long-chain PFAS compounds are effectively removed by the activated carbon)
- Cyanobacteria**
**For complete removal of cyanobacterial toxins, we recommend reverse osmosis technology, such as the AQVA Smart EVO drinking water reverse osmosis system.
Technical specifications:
- Recommended flow rate: 1–2 liters per minute (suitable for one water point)
- Capacity: approximately 3,000 – 14,000 liters*
- Pore size: 0.1 µm
- The cartridge fits AQVA ONE, DUO, SMART MAX and SMART EVO devices
- Operating temperature: 2–30 °C
*The filter’s lifespan depends on the quality of the source water. Replace the filter at the latest when water flow decreases significantly or output pressure drops close to zero. At that point, the filter is clogged and should be replaced.
System requirements:
- Stable inlet pressure: 2 – 6 bar
- Filtration is based on an extremely tight mechanical sieve (0.1 µm), so sufficient pre-filtration is recommended (e.g., with a 1 µm pre-filter). Pre-filtration is usually not necessary for municipal water. AQVA ONE, DUO, SMART MAX and SMART EVO devices already include pre-filtration.
Winter storage:
- In winter, if temperatures drop below 2 °C, to prevent frost damage, shut off the water supply lines and drain the filter housings. Store the filters in a warm, dry place if you intend to reuse them.
