AQVA SAIMAA 2 SEA MINI Seawater System, 36 L/h

A newly upgraded Finnish-made reverse osmosis system for purifying seawater into drinking and cooking water. Produces 36 liters of clean water per hour. A compact water purifier ideal when a single water point for purified water is sufficient.

Delivery/Pickup: 1–3 business days from order
Ordering: Via webshop, email, or phone

  • Made in Finland with the Key Flag Symbol
  • Easy to install, commission, and use! Includes all necessary components, hoses, and parts. Requires only a suitable feed pump to deliver pressurized water to the pre-filter. The package includes a distribution pump, post-filters, and shut-off valves for water consumption from the tank, but their installation and piping are not included, as these are part of the property’s water system.
  • The open design and freely positionable components make winter storage quick and easy. Maintenance, when needed, is simple and often tool-free, with all parts and components openly visible. The included pressure booster pump is installed using user-friendly push-in/quick-connect fittings between the pre-filter unit and the reverse osmosis unit. As a standalone unit, it’s easy to mount on a wall.

Benefits:

  • Easily meets the drinking and cooking water needs of an average Finnish household.
  • Simple to use and maintain, even for seasonal cottage use.
  • Removes difficult-to-eliminate compounds such as salt, humus, and blue-green algae toxins (99.9%). Produces clear, clean water from seawater. Water solids and humus content slightly affect filter lifespan, but typically pre-filters are replaced annually, and osmosis membranes every two years.
  • Includes two-stage pre-filtration with AQVA L-sized filter package.
  • Produces purified water via a float switch or, alternatively, a standard ON-OFF switch. Operates on 24VDC low voltage.
  • An automatic float valve or ON-OFF switch (not included) regulates the water level when filling the tank.
  • Water purification capacity at 9 bar feed pressure and 5 ppt salinity is approximately 36 liters per hour. (Typical salinity on Finland’s coastal areas ranges from 2–7 ppt, depending on location.)
  • Recommended operating pressure via the pressure booster pump: 7–9 bar. Pressure is adjustable via the osmosis unit’s rinse water valve.
  • Enhanced salt removal efficiency of 95–97% with AQVA Baltic osmosis membranes (included). Affected by water temperature, membrane usage, and adjusted feed pressure.
  • Additional information is available under the “Files” tab.

Pressure Booster Pump Specifications:

  • Voltage: 24 VDC
  • Nominal current: 5.5 A @ 10 bar
  • Nominal power consumption: 132 watts
  • Energy consumption for producing 36 liters of clean water: approximately 132 Wh
  • *Power consumption depends on water temperature, salinity, and filter usage. Additional energy consumption comes from a potential well, sea, or lake water pump and the distribution pump, which operates intermittently when water is used. For example, using a 500 W seawater pump, its energy consumption for 36 liters of water is approximately 180 Wh. Thus, the seawater pump and pressure booster pump together consume about 312 Wh to produce 36 liters of clean water.

Removes from Water, Including:

  • Solid particles
  • Turbidity and color
  • Limescale
  • Metals such as iron and manganese
  • Heavy metals like lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic*
  • Salts such as chloride, sodium, sulfates, nitrates, and nitrites
  • Organic compounds like pesticides, pharmaceutical residues, and hormones
  • Microbiological contaminants like bacteria, viruses, and molds
  • Chlorine and other chlorine compounds
  • Uranium
  • Gaseous impurities like radon** and hydrogen sulfide
*Arsenic is typically filtered with over 85% efficiency, but performance may vary in some cases.
**If radon is present in the water, note that the activated carbon filter may act as a radiation source. More details are available in the installation and user manual.

System Components:

  • AQVA SAIMAA 2 SEA reverse osmosis unit for seawater (product code: AFRO2-SEA)
  • Two-stage pre-filtration for solids, humus, odors, and water softening with AQVA L-sized filter package. Filter housing product code: AQ1L (includes two housings, wall mounting bracket, and filters)
  • Post-filtration: AQPH-M. Alkalizes the water, adding small amounts of calcium and magnesium to restore minerals to otherwise pure water.
  • Fittings for connecting the reverse osmosis unit to the pre-filter and pressure booster pump.

Replacement Filters:

Annually Replaced Pre- and Post-Filters:
  • AQCB-L
  • AQMF1-L, mechanical fine filter (€18.90), may require more frequent replacement depending on water solids and sediment content
  • Post-mineralization: AQPH-M
Replaced Every Two Years:

Winter Storage:

  • Winter storage of the reverse osmosis system is straightforward without additional valving. The water lines are sealed using the plugs provided with the system, and the reverse osmosis unit is moved to a warm storage space. First, the water line is closed, the pipelines and housings are drained, and then the reverse osmosis unit is plugged and stored in a warm location. The membranes do not need to be removed. When recommissioning in spring, water can be flushed through the system for about 30 minutes to rinse the membranes, after which the water is ready for normal use.
