Standard size 20" BB water softener filter

The filter effectively reduces the harmful effects of limescale in domestic water. Ideal for 1–4 water outlets. Unlike traditional salt-based water softeners, it does not use regeneration salt. Instead it works using DAC technology , which converts limescale into microscopic crystals already inside the filter so that it no longer deposits on surfaces.

Filter replacement

• Replace the cartridge as soon as water flow decreases noticeably or you see limescale starting to build up again on appliances and surfaces. At that point the filter’s performance has dropped and it should be changed.

• AQCAL-XL – typical service life approx. 1 year The actual lifetime depends on the overall quality of the incoming raw water.

• If you notice any change in the quality of the treated water, we recommend having a follow-up water analysis carried out on the raw water.

• Typical flow rate: max. 15 litres per minute

• Pressure drop: 0.1 bar @ 10 l/min

• Replacement cartridge fits the XL-size AQVA filter housing (20" Big Blue standard size)

System requirements:

• Pre-filtration: Water entering the filter must be pre-filtered (e.g. fine sediment filter AQMF1-XL). For well water, iron, manganese and humus must be removed first so that the lifetime and performance of the anti-limescale filter are not reduced.

• Water conductivity should be below 1000 µS/cm

• Post-filtration: After the anti-limescale filter, the water should preferably be passed through an activated carbon filter to complete the water treatment.

• Stable inlet pressure: 2–6 bar

Winter storage:

In winter, if temperatures drop below +2 °C, shut off the water lines and completely drain the in-line filter housings to prevent frost damage.
