Double Iron-Manganese Filter package
Three-filter in-line package, L-size (10" BB) – designed for higher iron and manganese levels. Also reduces organic matter.
A three-stage filtration system ideal for purifying well water when the combined iron + manganese concentration is max 6 mg/l (6000 µg/l). Detailed theoretical capacities and recommendations by contaminant type are listed below.
Benefits:
- Improves drinking-water quality
- Easy maintenance
- No drain line required
- Pressure relase button
- Standard 10" Big Blue size
- Simple to install and use
- No electricity needed
Purification methods:
- 1 µm pre-filter (AQMF1-L). Mechanically filters particles and sediment down to 1 µm (1/1000 mm). Filters 30 % of organic matter on average.
- Iron-Manganese filter (AQFE-L). Binds iron & manganese and raises pH by ~0.8 units (depending on incoming water).
- Aqva Iron final filter (AQ051). Filters out remaining iron, manganese and any residual organic matter.
Filters:
- Iron
- Manganese
- Heavy metals (lead, copper, etc.)
- Suspended solids down to 1 µm
- Organic matter (colour & odour)
- Limescale
Theoretical capacity in m³ of water:
- (iron + manganese + humus COD combined)
- 1 mg/l (1000 µg/l) ? 300 m³
- 5 mg/l (5000 µg/l) ? 60 m³
- 10 mg/l (10 000 µg/l) ? 30 m³
Note: The first 1 µm pre-filter clogs mechanically; its life is typically 16–30 m³. Keep 1–2 spare cartridges on the shelf.
Capacities tested in-house by AQVA water laboratory + real-world installations. Seasonal swings in private wells can shorten life.
Package contents:
- 3 filter housings
- 1" BSP brass nipples for series connection
- Shut-off ball valves with ¼" sampling ports (1/4" pressure gauge AQ-PG15-14 sold separately)
- Housing wrench
- Wall-mount bracket
- All three cartridges
Technical specifications:
- Connections: 1" female BSP
- Dimensions: 400 mm H × 700 mm W × 200 mm D
- Dry weight: 7 kg
- Full manual under the “Files” tab
System requirements:
- Steady inlet pressure 2–10 bar
- Install after the pressure tank
- Water temperature 2–30 °C
- Max iron 6 mg/l (recommended ? 4 mg/l)
- Max manganese 0.9 mg/l (recommended ? 0.45 mg/l)
- Max organic matter 15 mg/l COD (recommended < 10 mg/l)
- Recommended flow at max contamination: 8 L/min (1–2 taps open)
- Higher flows possible, but pressure drop increases
- Typical pressure drop at 8 liter per minute flow rate approx 0,8 bar.
Winter storage:
- During winter, if temperatures drop below 2°C, to prevent frost damage, water lines should be shut off, and the filter housings drained.
