  Hello, only purpose of this product is to ease the filter cartridge installation. To centralize the cartridge into filter housings upper part, when closing the housing. On the other hand it is also possible to close the housing without centralizing ring, if you make it carefully. As long as the centralizing ring is not broken, it can be used.
