Uranium Analysis
Uranium is an odorless and tasteless contaminant found in varying concentrations across Finland, most commonly and in higher levels in Southern Finland, particularly along the Salpausselkä ridge and in Uusimaa. Uranium dissolves from bedrock into groundwater.
Finland has not set a threshold for uranium levels in private well water, but the limit for water distributed by large water utilities is 30 µg/l.
Uranium in drinking water is known to have adverse effects, including on kidney function, bone health, and blood pressure.
